LUSO 2012 will take place on the 16th of June at the Senate House, London. Part of the prestigious University of London, the prime location of the Senate House, in London’s thriving Bloomsbury area, and its stunning spaces that can host up to 400 delegates, make it the ideal venue for this year’s conference.

LUSO 2012 main theme is Powering-Up Portugal. This year's event aims at encouraging disclosure, communication and interaction in the fields of science and technology, entrepreneurship and innovation, arts and humanities, and community cooperation and development. LUSO 2012 will help promoting Portugal by increasing the visibility of the skills and competences of the Portuguese human capital in the United Kingdom.

In addition to internationally renowned keynote speakers, LUSO 2012 will include a networking session, offering the participants the opportunity to share ideas and knowledge with representatives of leading Portuguese and British companies in the areas of research and innovation.

Notwithstanding being the annual meeting of Portuguese Researchers and Students in the United Kingdom, LUSO 2012 welcomes participants across all areas of study/work, ages and nationalities. We believe LUSO 2012 will be a unique opportunity to hear a variety of perspectives and engage in discussion about potentialities of Portugal within the global context, which is expected to be of great benefit to all participants. While the quality of Portuguese researchers is internationally recognized, present times pose new challenges on ways of attracting funding towards maximizing research potential and resources, as well as to translate knowledge into economic and social value.
